Note that where you select where you want to place GRUB-2 during the Ubuntu install process has changed in version 10.10. There is an additional procedure to set the time to boot in the GRUB-2 menu to zero if you wish. When you boot into that OS selection, you’ll be chain loading into GRUB-2, where by default you will boot into Ubuntu 10.04 after a delay. Easy BCD will automatically find the grub.cfg file in the boot/grub partition in the first GRUB-2 based Linux OS and add that boot option to the Easy BCD boot selection list. You will note that there is no option to select a partition. Click on “type” and from the pull down list select GRUB-2. When making the entry you click on the Linux/BSD tab. Once you can boot into Windows 7 you can add the entry to boot into Ubuntu 10.04 TLS. Then you will use the Windows 7 recovery CD to restore the boot to Windows 7. Rather you are supposed to take the default options which will install GRUB-2 to the MBR of hard drive zero. I opened EasyBCD and added an entry for Linux, selecting the Linux primary partition. “I installed GRUB to Ubuntu's partition (/dev/sda3) so I could use Windows' bootloader.
